Dot,Line,Shape

My lecture ,Mohd Najib required us to draw 2 building that surround HBP using dot and line respectively.

I choose to draw this pictures using line because the stucture and pattern of this traditional house is so unique especially the pattern of the lines.

Second photo i took is the HBP white building.I choose this place because the design is very outstanding.It is simple and nice.I draw the building with dots by using black pen.

My 101 Mask

The assignment is about produce 2 papier mache masks which i never heard before.However,i'm quite proud of myself because i done my mask start from zero.

I got the idea by asking my friends and search from Internet.These was the materials i bought and prepared.

First mask:My own full face+same skin colour

The materials included basin,poster colours,marker pen,newspaper,A4 paper,toilet roll,brush,cellophane tape,PVA glue,water and plastic paper.

The very first step to create the mask is tear off the newspaper into pieces so that i can paste it on my face.

Secondly,pour the PVA glue into a basin that are filled with a quarter of water.The PVA glue and water are mixed together.I stop adding the PVA glue when i feel the mixture is sticky enough.

I made holes on plastic paper so that i can see and breath when i stick the newspaper pieces on my face.

Then,i start to put the plastic paper on my face to be the base.I stick the plastic tightly on my face using cellophane tape so that it fit to my face.

I put the newspaper pieces into the mixture and start to put the newspaper pieces on my face one by one.I paste 3 layers of the newspaper on my face using brush so that the mask can become more rigid and in solid form after it dry.

I dry the newspaper on my face by using hair dryer because the weather on that day is quite humidity after raining.Then,i take off the mask.


I stick some white paper on the mask so that the colour of my face can easily been seen.

I left it to dry overnight.I paint my skin colour using poster colour.

Then,i help my mask to make up and here is the product!

Second mask:Face with emotion+black and white

The steps involves are same as the first mask but for this second mask i tear the toilet paper roll and stick to the mask so that i can get white colour mask.I cut the shape of the eyes and mouth using scissors.

Besides,i put thick toilet paper on certain area so that i can get 2-D shape and have some wrinkle effect because my intention is to have a old people face mask with sad emotion.

Here is the final step!I paint some pattern on the mask using black poster colour and here is it!



Finally,i have done the 2 masks!

My Bamboo Sound Tool

This assignment really require a lot of hard work and i'm exercising troughout the whole process.I feel that cutting down a young bamboo is not so good so i cut down bamboo that are old and dry enough.On the other hand the sound of old bamboo is nicer.My intension is to make a xylophone using bamboo.I got the bamboo by cutting down myself and also borrow from my friend (act).

I manage to get 2 different diameter of bamboo stick.The larger diameter of bamboo stick can produce higher pich of sound.The challenging part is when i try to tie up all the bamboo stick together.In the end

i complete the BST with the help of my friends.

The product of my assignment:

Playing my BST and the night before the group performance of the BST.It was interesting because we made the BST ourself and perform it well on that night.It is the natural of the sound.

The Bamboo Joint

Here was my product after i went to rumpun buluh to take some photo (act) and after the story came across my mind (intention).

The story is basically about describing bamboo life that almost same

as human life joint.Human and environment are strongly connected and act earth

drama together.We should treat our environment as our family but not enemy as what we do in everyday.Realising is not enough but acting on it is the most important thing to do.

The story begin with bamboo that are just born to the world:

Life is like a cycle.A life died will follow by a life grow.

Every people is unique.We will know with different ethnic around the world.It just like bamboo that born with different species.

Sometimes we will face obstacles and we have to know that our life is not always smooth.

However,we must be tough because life must goes on.We try to be

shiniest star in the sky.

Life will only be meaningful and colourful if we willing to share beautiful thing with others.

My Product:

colour represent different aspect of my life.Blue colour represent my leisure time when I'm resting my mind.I'm the person that will not forget to have fun although i live in this stressful world.The yellow colour represent the victory or goal i have to achieve in my life.Pink colour represent my love to my family and friends.This 3 aspect are strongly connected so that my life can become colourful and meaningful.

This was some of the photo i manage to take in Rumpun Buluh.It was tiring journey because i have to rush to my QS meeting after the drawing and photographing session.By the way,i get the image i want for my bamboo story.

It was also a unforgettable experience because i drawing in cow's toilet before i enter buluh site.

The 'BAMBU SENSE'

This was the BAMBU SENSE assignment and this is what i see,heard and smell from the image that shown in Esquisse 4.

This was interesting and had train to use my imagination expecially when i think what i can smell and heard from the image.

Me,My Thoughts and I

The second assignment is uploaded!The task for the assignment is to identify USM inventions for 2012 & beyond.We should start to prepare ourself before 2012 happen.

I had choose one of the task which is suggest how the invention may contribute to the reconstruction of USM/ Penang after the disaster.My title of the USM invention is Novel Catalytic System for Cleaning of Diesel Engine Exhaust

t Gas,2008.

The invention had improve the quality of environment because the exhaust gas from the engine that will pollute the environment(carbon monxide and nitrogen oxide)will be change to other gas

that bring less pollution to the environment.

Here's the picture of the catalytic system in engine that i drawn :

As shown in the picture,the unwanted gas will turn into less threaten gas.For example:

a)carbon monoxide change to carbon dioxide

b)hydrocarbon changes to water

c)nitrogen oxide change to nitrogen

After the 2012 disaster,most of the flora will be destroy.So,if the catalytic system is use on vehicle,the gas emitted will be useful to the environment.For example,carbon dioxide that emitted is useful for photosynthesis of plants.Water emitted also is an important for growing of plants.Besides,the nitrogen produce will be useful for the soil because it improve the quality of soil.Furthermore,it will allow plan

ts to grow healthier and more.

Below was the changes of gaseous after pass through the novel catalytic system:

It was a useful invention after 2012 disaster because it allow living things to survive although the flood had destroy flora and fauna.The gaseous that had been filter after pass through the catalytic system is much more environment friendly and it help flora to grow.Thus,it also benefits herbivorous animals that eat plant and also benefits animals that eat meat.It allow us to survive after the disaster.

Satisfied after i had work for so long time do do research on invention and think of idea on how it can benefit after the 2012 disaster.:)

What I Heard

I had a brain storming in the first class today on what is actually my way and what is the correct thing i should do in usm.I realised that i need to contributed not just for myself but also for USM that given me a chance to study and growing to become excellent people in the future.This is call intention and i was awake by Wan Burhanuddin,the first speaker today.

Before the class had started,i get to know that respect and adapt to foreigner culture is important besides the respect among different ethnic that had started since Merdeka.Wan Burhanuddin respect the China student by speaking in English in the class and i can know that the China student is trying to learn Malay language helped by his friends so that he can adapt to the new country.

This is the history and the future history for USM:

USM is growing up on every year and had been successfully chosen as university status APEX(accelerator programme of excellent) or also known as Program Pemacuan untuk Kecermelangan in September 2008.The Status Quo of USM will become higher and better year by year. The new students for this year is the second batch of APEX students and we are given a task on helping USM to be one of the university that can be compete in international level.USM aim to be the top 10 university in the world and the top university in Malaysia.This is not a hard job if we,the students had do a lot of hard work on it.

I used the role of a student as example for the 6 principles.To be a APEX student,firstly we need to have an intention.The intention is act by an actor which is the student.The intention is the intention to study and succeed.Secondly is the action .The action must follow by rules.Besides,the action must be fast,rapid and in high speed so we will get a excellent product.We have to upgrade our work from good followed by better,best and lastly excellent.We can get a excellent product if we have APEX intention and APEX action.The product is place on leaflet,booklet,report,documentation and work model.

The 3P rules:
1.Principle
Principle is the rules on what should i do and what i should not do on my study journey. We have to hold this principle to succeed.

2.People
-USM students,lecturers and the community.

3.Place
-USM(APEX university)that provide comfortable,convenient and best study environment.

This was the 3P that bring a bright future for USM.

The Actors:

There are many actors in USM in order to co-operate together and helped USM to achieve the goal.

1.Students
The majority actors and fresh seed that waiting to become a unique
species.

2.Student Master
The important people that guide and teach theory to student.Student master is the complete nutrient that will be given to the seed.

3.Penangite
The Penang citizens that give a helping hands.

4.USM community
A group of members that co-operate together to fight for USM bright future.

5.et al(others)

There are lectures and coordinator who given advice that was short but strong enough to influence me.

For example the first lectures was Dr Muhammad Najib who advice us to do everything efficiently and fast in order to succeed.The following speaker is Dr Masran Ismail and Dr Azizan who called us to enjoy our 3 years life in USM.I agree with this because we should think positively and don't forget to take a rest on half way before we start the next long journey.The following speaker was Hanizum who are the coordinator 153 and will conduct us on the next class.Play hard,study hard and pray hard is his meaning full advice.

The chinese's english name is quite funny but easy to remember by people.It has it's pro and pron site.

In conclusion,the only way to succeed in life is do hard work,more hard work and extra hard work.Lastly,we need to obey the right principle in our life and act on our dreams.The road is always be smooth if we think it is smooth.
