7 IBU Prototype-Part 4

We went there early in the morning to que up for polypipe curving but we still have to wait half hour for our turn!


Start to become not patient when waiting,he..

After curving the polypipe,we polish the polypipe before heat it.

Then,we cut the edge of the polypipe so that it become not very sharp.

Start to heat the polypipe using gas.Then,we press the both side of polypipe using the clamp so that the head side of polypipe become flat.

Become flat after pressing.

We labelled the cross 3.6cm from the top of polypipe to make a small hole on it using machine.

In the next morning,we continue our work again!!

Due to mistake,we measure the length of bamboo from the hole of the polypipe from end to end to makesure that it was in right length which was 2.284m.The mistake was we measure only the length of bamboo without considering the polypipe.

So,we shorten the length of the bamboo by cutting it.Thanks for Faris,Azwan and Safwan for helping us(girls)to cut the bamboo.

Then,we thin the bamboo again using parang and hammer.

Place the polypipe at the end of bamboo using hammer.

We found that the the bamboo was crack inside after we hammer it.So i tried to paste some pieces of bamboo on the cracking part using the glue borrow from bengkel as told by En.Rusli in the morning.

We had done and this was the final product of my bamboo struts.

7 IBU Prototype-Part 3

Althought morning do not have class,but the assignment was waiting for me!Today challenge was the polypipe.

A roll of polypipe was waiting for me to cut it into a right length-11.8cm

Start to cut the polypipe which was very hard for me!




Special thanks to Azwan and Safwan for helping us to cut down the polypipe.

Continue cutting it at a side using small gergaji.



I measure the length of polypipe which have to cut down futher as the joint.The vertical length was 14cm from the end of polypipe.





My friends,Shing Iee,Mei Jia,Suet Ching and Yuh Hui was cutting the polypipe after i measure it.













We waiting to curve the polypipe but it's too late.So,we decide to do it on tomorrow morning.

7 IBU Prototype-Part 2

I had a surprise in this morning after i woke up and told by my roomate later we need to carry the bamboo from rumpun buluh to HBP.I rush there after finish a few bit of biscuit.It was not a nice morning and nice day!

Ready to move the bamboo to HBP.

Half Way......

We measure 11.8cm from the end part of the bamboo using measuring tape.Then,we cut a little on the surface of the bamboo so that it was easier for us to thinning the bamboo.



At first,i use cutter to thinning it but it took very long time!

So,we tried to use parang and it's work and just need very short time.

7 IBU Prototype-Part 1

It's dome time again!Today onwards,we will built a big IBU dome by combining all of HBP student's section.The dome is really huge!

I'm in section 4 and colour B which is green.So,i refer to the length of bamboo i need to cut using the table:





I went to rumpun buluh site to find and cut the bamboo with friends at 5pm.Although it was raining,we still continue our journey by holding umbrella,ha.





These bamboo are waiting for us!That's a lot!

We choose the bamboo with 7.5cm diameter before we cut it.



I cut down the bamboo using gergaji borrow from bengkel HBP.





It was quite hard to cut down the bamboo because some of it was quite thick.I had use my whole strength to cut it!

Looking Forward

Due to the coming 2012 disaster,i think i should do some part on helping the others.

How am i going to contribute to 2012?There are some of the part i can contribute.

Before 2012:
2012 is because of human and natural effect.By the way,human should realise their wrong and responsibility for their fault on destroying the environment.So,i will join the campaign that protect environment for example Save Our Earth,Protect planet Earth and Earth Hour for at least reduce the seriousness of 2012.Besides,i will try to advice others to play their part on protect the environment.

Secondly,i can help on to build the invention inside the 2012 ships.For example,USM invention.Maybe i can contribute some small part when building the invention especially the invention that can save people during disaster.

Thirdly,i would raise fund so that more people can go into the 2012 ships.Not all people can have the chance to ride the ship unless they have enough money because there are many people but less ship.Besides,everyone can prepare a ship for themselves and i can build a ship with family and use it when 2012.

During 2012:
I can help to save the injured victims by informing doctor,nurse or other workers during 2012.Besides,i can save people using artificial respiration after learn it when necessary and emergency.i will also use USM invention to help the victims.

Besides,i can calm down the situation by giving some help by groups.I will give some counselling for victims that lost their love one and advice them what to do during 2012.

Looking Backward

After i look backward on what i had done in USM since first day,Wow!i had done a lot of assignment which i think impossible!

On the first day in USM,my dad accompany me to come.My mum was not following because he had to take care my brother.This was the second time i came to USM since the first interview.I feel very thankful to my dad because he was willing to help and accompany me twice to came here.I was given just 2 days to prepare for that interview journey which was so far always from my home Selangor.I feel glad my dad willing to came with me without working on that day.It was so touching!


The whole orientation week was so tiring because everyday we have to walk at least 1 hour to go to DTSP from my hostel-Tekun.Thanks for training my stamina and my walking skill are very good now.PIMPIN SISWA programme was very fun especially outdoor activity.First time i just slept 3 hours in a day.


First day of lesson 12/7-Blur and shock to have a assignment on the first day of lesson!By the way,i had learn to manage a blog and how to join the yahoo group after struggling in whole morning by asking friends and trying.What i heard from the lesson was the history of USM and what i have to do in USM in future.


16/7-Me,My Thought and I.

We was told to show how the USM invention are to be placed on PONDOK during 2012 disaster.My title of invention was My Novel Catalytic System for Cleaning Diesel Engine Exhaust Gas ,2008.The whole weekends i was busy with this assignment can can't enjoy it.Start to realise Uni journey was quite hard.


19/7-Bamboo journey started here!We went to rumpun buluh and asked to sketch the surrounding in 10 min,5 min,3 min,1 min ,30 sec until 5 sec on a smelly cow shit place.However,it was so fun to sketch surrounding in short time and i still wondering how to sketch 20 people in 5 second!After that,we observed the bamboo
to get some idea on our assignment-Natural Structure.

23/7-Bamboo Sound Tools.

After observing,now is the time to used and apply it!i had use bamboo to create xylophone.

26/7-My mask.

I did the 2 mask in one night and it was so tiring but excited after produce the mask.I was smelling PVC glue for 5 hours when doing the mask on my face!

2/8-Casket for me

I never think of create my casket because i think i will use the casket buying from shop,haha.After think for long time,these was my bamboo casket which i wish it was colourful:




i also had plan how i was placed in casket and who was going to carry me.Wow,i was well prepare for my future!ha


6/8-My Black Box:

I had created a survival kits as my black box because it was so useful to me and nothing is more important than life.It can use in anywhere and anytime.











9/8-6 Ballon Black Bamboo Box


This was my toughness assignment i ever had because i had use much energy to cut down bamboo and bring it all the way to my hostel.After i hardly built the box for 4 days,my lecture said it was too heavy and big!What to do?built again....

18/8-Urbanity

We went to Times Square to study the space and form of the placed and plan an event for Merdeka Countdown.



Due to the time problem,our group has not present it.So,we had hand in the project for Mr WanB.

It was an unforgettable night with Merdeka celebration with lecture and HBP students.We having fun whole night by watching the YOUTH JAM show and visiting around Penang Times Square.





3/8-Survival Kit for IBU


These assignment was done during the Sem break.I had fully charge myself after having a great holidays with family and friends!My weight also become normal after back to home,haha..
